| Well, in response to previous comments, I'm a fan of martial arts and I did not like this movie. The main reason stated in my summary of a line: when the unsung hero sacrifices for the dozen opponents, as they usually do here is not exciting - it is boring. There are only two good fight scenes in this film: the one with the bald man and the last. These are the only place where the villains much of a fight. As for the "no wires or special effects were used in the fight scenes" disclaimer, and is used a lot of camera effects that martial arts films is almost the same thing as the effects special, for the "no wires", it would be much more impressive if the lead (or anyone else) really did everything required cables first. Do not misunderstand me, which obviously has the moves, but he does nothing I have not seen before types, such as Keith Cooke. The writing is ambitious, but ultimately silly, and management is often no idea how to shoot a fight scene. The actress who plays the hero's love interest half packs punch right - I would like to see it again. (* 1 / 2) |
| Came my way to sneak in a lookout. Good story .. major conflicts. Ho Pak main Sunday, playing a cop "OFFICIAL LAING" It was unbelievable, in martial arts and toned down his performance at the time the results to be intimidated by 3 wild characters on a mission to destroy him. I was afraid of my pants by the "X-MAN .. I played a British actor with a deep look threatening .. Kevin Ula Christie. I hope it will never run, but sometimes it was very funny and almost dishy. This DVD movie Book of Swords, The has the right mix of depth dialogue and action, and is very different from the stage of the mill martial arts. This is history, a strong performance, big fight scenes, warm crisp cinematography and the dialogue was thinking. The good work you are! |
| I saw a screener copy of Book of Swords, The Drama movie and I must say that the martial arts in the film: Book of Swords, The is simply out of this world. Do not get me wrong, it's not like we have not seen this before, only this time there are no wires used. I am not sure, but I think if anyone knows for sure please write in. I tried to find the cables, but found none. Also can anyone let me know how to get a hold of the film. One last thing, this boy, Ho-sang mad, mad skills. You can see the fight scenes, not like most movies where the camera is all over the place. Next best thing to Bruce Lee. |
| It is a well-written, well acted, dramatic film. BOOK swords star, Ho-Sung Pak, one of the world's top Wushu practitioners and charisma on screen, action sequences and excellent overall performance of breathtaking. As we have seen the movie, there is little doubt that we witnessed the emergence of a superstar. Ho-Sung, is capable of running 4 or 5 shots in the air and 720 degree kicks, turns, butterfly, where his body turned half past one, while the rotations are perfectly parallel to the ground - all without any help from cables! Everything from the musical results of photography in this DivX Movie Book of Swords, The is first class. It has been rumored that the book will be released theatrically in the U.S. in early 2005. |
| I wonder what kind of people see this film? I think fans of martial arts to come out and see this movie? Why is it so low ranking, because martial arts is one of the best I've seen in years. good story, great action, great fight. What more could an audience want? was a hard decision to take the right classification for this film. Although the performance was good players, if they have a Jet Li or Chow Yun-Fat in the leading role would have been a success worldwide. One thing I like about her is that we held in the return of this tyrant who is supposed to be a 500-year-old Asian myth. Why should it take place in us and why the city of Chicago? The mixture between Asians and Americans do not bother me that much, but I think a list of Asia would have been better. and a point deduction by the city of Chicago. would have been cooler if it took place somewhere in the east. My conclusion: the martial art lovers "go to the successful nearest your home and go see this film." |
| I caught a screening of the DivX film Book of Swords, The at the AFM last February. Wow ... very impressive. I recognized the lead, Pak Hosung, his co-star of Jackie Chan in The Legend of the drunken master (the best fight scenes with Hosung unfortunately deleted in the final cut of drunken master). For those who do not know, Hosung is one of the true masters of Wushu. No one can fight with swords, as you can. I used to see him when he was a legend in the martial arts tournament circuit America again in the late 80s, early 90s. Book of Swords' story is just one piece of action, but has some of the best scenes of martial arts fight I've seen in the movie. It is a good change of pace to see an action DVD movie Book of Swords, The with real action, as opposed to the use of wire tricks, CG improvements, so I've heard they are released on DVD this very soon. I will be definitely pick up a copy. Hosung hope is planning to exit more quickly. The martial arts / action genre definitely needs a breath of fresh air ... hopefully Hosung films that can provide new patada fans are looking for. |
