| Saboteurs just ahead *** *** Why "cool technological thriller"? In one of the highlights of the film, Sean Connery, the best submarine captain James Mason from the Captain Nemo, decides to navigate blindly through an accurate mapping of a narrow path between seamounts. Its official Reluctantly accepting: they know that it is difficult but possible for the crew of a preparation. A few minutes later, the captain enters the bridge and orders faster Web: this involves quick calculations so that, once again, the crew is well prepared. Then they are attacked by a torpedo, which implies further calculations, stopwatch in hand, by Sam Neill, confidence and perfectly loyal first mate, while you hear a solemn and exciting music. | As an avid reader and fan of Tom Clancy's "Jack Ryan" novels, I eagerly to see any DVD film Hunt for Red October, The from them. I think this is possibly the best book to make a Hunt for Red October, The movie that sticks to the story of the book, without compromising the requirements of "Hollywood". Later, derivatives movies Clancy Harrison Ford in the role of Jack Ryan, but I think Alec Baldwin is more credible in this film. The main character is fabulously played by Sean Connery (I know that gives Russia a Scottish accent, but so?). It gives real weight to the performance and character. He makes the audience sympathize, respect and joy of Marko Ramius and overlooks one of the strongest casts in many a film. This one of the first videos that I bought after the investment in a Dolby Surround and I love the whale noises, and so early as the Russian sub leaves port and Connery (Marko Ramius) enables the crew to sing, the atmosphere is electric and surround sound really helps the hairs of your neck raised. Sometimes these play 5 minutes of my (DVD) treasured copy wound with the volume too high just for the feel good factor. But best of all, the story is a cracker, on hold until the end and hunting underwater sequences sub masterfully done. The cast in general is excellent (the casting of James Earl Jones as Greer is one of the all-time actor and character coincide with the works of genius) and the Hunt for Red October, The film is quite faithful to one of the best books of its kind. |
