While passing through the town of Bannock, a bunch of drunken, trail-weary cattlemen go overboard with their celebrating and accidentally kill an old man with a stray shot. They return home to Sabbath unaware of his death. Bannock lawman Jered Maddox later arrives there to arrest everyone involved on a charge of murder. Sabbath is run by land baron Vince Bronson, a benevolent despot, who, upon hearing of the death, offers restitution for the incident. Maddox, however, will not compromise even though small ranchers like Vern Adams are not in a position to desert their responsibilities for a long and protracted trial. Sabbath's marshal, Cotton Ryan, is an aging lawman whose tough reputation rests on a single incident that occurred years before. Ryan admits to being only a shadow of what he once was and no threat to stop Maddox. Maddox confides to Ryan that Bannock's judicial system is weak and corrupt, and while he's doubtful that anyone he brings back will suffer more than the price of a bribe, he will not be deterred in his unrelenting pursuit of his duty. Initially Bronson appears willing to make concessions, but when his oldest friend Harvey Stenbaugh is killed after deliberately picking a fight with Maddox, Bronson digs in his heels with the rest of the town to resist the relentless lawman.

The character of Lancaster (Maddox) as a lawman, relentless and is unbeatable in a nightmare reality.It ever makes you think of strict justice, which puts you in the electric chair to go a little over the speed limit. The jeans are to blame for that on a wild party in a small town, where an old man ends up losing their lives. But in no way they deserve what comes to Lancaster when it arrives. Maddox is so infallible in everything he does that there is something supernatural to him. The same type appeared more prepared in Clint Eastwood 's "Pale Rider", but that Clint could be seen as a hero, Lancaster is a cold blooded murderer. As the movie: Lawman goes along we tend to dislike most, and feel sorry for Lee. J. Cobb, Robert Duvall and jeans. Sheree North is the woman who once was beautiful, but is now worn by age and life difficult. Robert Ryan, always a strong presence, is the man who is tired of having to prove their worth in shootings and think it deserves a quiet, more stable life. When `Lawman 'came out, it was considered an imitation of the spaghetti western, but seeing today you realize that there are more.

Towards the end of Lawman, Burt Lancaster says that cities are becoming less and less in need of such services. I suppose it is a commentary on the influence of the civilization of yeast. You are a city marshal in the old west. He is doing the job alone, you may have a deputy or two. Burt said that you have to follow the rules, but as we see it quite a bit Lawman wings. J. Lee Cobb and some of its employees and their retainers city Saturday to shoot Burt Lancaster in the city of Bannock Bannock citizens and one is killed. Lancaster trails and goes through Saturday with one of them hanging in a pack horse. He is named after Saturday's Sheriff Robert Ryan and the story begins. Lancaster believes that men who are behind all kinds, some practitioners of gunmen, some parents find themselves at this time. It does not matter to him what they in One is the former common law husband of a friend, Sheree North, who settled on the Sabbath. Lawman is a pretty bleak western history. It is a sort of cross between Edward Dmytryk Witch and The Unforgiven Clint Eastwood. Topics of the two films can be found here. Lancaster is a good supporting cast. I especially liked as JD Cannon Sheree North and husband Richard Jordan as a young cowboy J. Lee Cobb 's spread. I think that Western fans will appreciate this movie.
