The pathetically shy LV lives the life of a recluse listening to her late fathers old records in her room and in the process driving her abusive, loud-mouthed mother, Mari Hoff, to distraction. At night, however, when her father's ghost visits, LV sings the songs of the great divas such as Judy Garland, Marilyn Monroe and Shirley Bassey. One evening LV is overheard by one of her mother's loathsome boyfriends, the disastrous dead-end talent scout Ray Say, who recognizes her innate talent and realizes this is his last big chance for the glittering prizes. Gambling everything Ray Say forces LV to appear at a local run-down, seedy night club run by Mr. Boo. As preparations for the big event proceed apace LV meets the equally shy Billy, a pigeon-racing telephone engineer and they form a tentative, gentle friendship. The big night finally arrives and everything is in readiness the band, the club and even a big agent from London, but what about LV?

Spoilers here. Some good old performances here. History and not prepared, but never mind. I suggest you see this first and then immediately see "Moulin Rouge". That really seems to fit so well that manifest destiny. This way of seeing this Little Voice movie becomes self-referential in a study on why the players do what they do, how they used song stereotypical characters, and what is the performance,

A twisted little Little Voice movie about a shy young man brutally (LV), a dominant mother cliche come to life, a ball of mud and the agent (of course) a little strange, however, type hero (?) Played by anything contained Unless Ewen McGregor, Little Voice is well worth the rent. This Little Voice film is absurd, dark, funny, sometimes dramatic and heart wrenching. A little compassion you a long way to enjoy it. The roles are played by talented actors very well, fascinating in its small turbulent world. If you like your movies off the wall, this is the Little Voice Romance film for you. If you prefer only mainstream Hollywood stuff, get away!

POTENTIAL SPOILERS * * After all the brilliant comments, I finally had the chance to see the DVD. Jane Horrocks performance was impressive, but the rest of the movie: Little Voice did not meet with her. The "Free Bird" metaphor was not so much as beaten on the head of the hearing at least four times. Well, do: find their own voice, go out, have a chance, blah, blah, blah. Unfortunately, the nature of metaphor handheld broadcast to put an end to the era incredibly unsatisfactory. I found the following, more or less predict the points before they happened. In general, do not live up to what I expected.

Jane Horrocks is not a familiar name for the average American, by any means. Michael Caine is the biggest draw of this Little Voice movie in the United States. However, Horrocks is a very recognizable and beloved TV actress in the UK and Little Voice, a Little Voice Romance movie about the emancipatory potential of singular talent (and music) is a Little Voice film for one of their special skills: the ability to mimic the singing voices of the postwar golden variety of broadcasters. Horrocks has a much wider range that would suggest stylized karaoke and this makes the plot line of clothing (a guardian angel and Daddy opportunistic great promoter of a good boy girl parochial much) work. Caine is very good as little time as schmoozer realizes that he has beaten the gold, and take the girl's mother (Brenda Blethyn) in the negotiation. Ewan McGregor has a cameo as another sweet quiet "a show, but without the edge of his passion to be in love with LV. Surprisingly, the only half the movie: Little Voice is not about music. 5 / 10
