| Well, here is the premise. A firefighter (Arnold Schwarzenegger), wife and son get blown when a terrorist (Cliff Curtis) is trying to destroy some target. Google "terrorists" on his home computer, discover who is responsible and going to the jungle to capture him. Escapes. In the meantime, it engages with the terrorists of the woman (Francesca Neri), won by his side, and they are going back to the States to catch him. If this argument is not the most amazing you can imagine, then there are some twists and turns that are even more incredible. But who cares? This is the Governator kick some major butt as he did in True Lies, Commando, and many other movies that you and I watch over and over again. Italian actress Neri (Live Flesh) is hot, Curtis (Whale Rider), makes a perfect terrorist, and one of my favorites, John Leguizamo (Land of the Dead) plays a big part. Even the monk agoraphobic brother, John Turturro, is here. Wow! However, it's all about the damage, collateral and otherwise, that attracts the movie. The firefighter was Terminator converts the heat (red, of course) and proceeds to remove terrorism. |
| Arnie may be a naturalized American citizen (which shows its patriotic credentials by drinking a cup of Stars and Stripes here), but such are the limits of his acting talent - inversely proportional to the size of your muscles, I guess - not yet been able to shake that guttural Teutonic accent. However, this piece helped flags sentimentality, which pretends to be a German engineer, in order to infiltrate a terrorist Colombian / capo of the strength to seek revenge for the murder of his wife and son. This Collateral Damage movie is garbage. Whatever the spark brilliant Hollywood threw him to return to the issue after 9 / 11 should have the courage of his convictions and left lock, stock and barrel. The Collateral Damage Action of the weak attempt at political context is an insult to the real victims of terrorism, and Arnie still weak attempt to evoke the pain equally. There is an irony that the motive of revenge behind the ridiculous story illustrates in microcosm "President George W. Bush 's campaign against the perception of phantom "axis of terror". As in the End of Days, Arnie affecting consciousness out of place in Predator, Commando, Red Heat and all other gunfests earlier in his career, but just does not wash. The bad - and women - despite sadistic taken with enthusiasm, an embarrassing game-hearing lowest instincts. Read some of the comments posted here approving and mourn: for Arnie, movies, for democracy. |
| Arnie. Firefighter. Wife and son dead. Revenge. Sad as it may seem, this brief summary makes this Collateral Damage Action much as Arnie cause havoc in the Colombian drug lords responsible. OK enough, but hardly anything special! |
| The DivX Movie Collateral Damage plays like a pastiche of Arnie earlier hits, including command, Predator, Total Recall, and several others. Unfortunately, not match any of those efforts. The plot is tired, listless direction, and Arnie is too old to be swollen and running around the jungles of Colombia and the streets of Los Angeles. It also seems impervious to the damage that is not acceptable in a modern action film. Does not fall once, but twice from great heights and has the bejeesus kicked him several times, but never shown as much as a scratch. The DivX film Collateral Damage comes to life briefly in a close fight quarts prison and during the climax in the basement of an office building, but it is nowhere near enough. Director Andrew Davis is not James Cameron, unfortunately. That reminds me, it's hard to believe is the same stylish action hero who appeared in TRUE LIES and eraser. But these films were made in the early'90s, and Arnie is not getting any younger. More needs to be done KINDERGARTEN COP kind of films and out of action racket. Definitely have to stop doing this as tripe (not to mention the end of the day and the 6th day or what is called the clone disaster). |
| Unfortunately, some people are of the opinion that this overproduction was after 9 / 11. The fact is that this film: Collateral Damage was completed months before and was scheduled to be released in September 2001. Because of 9 / 11 the producers decided to wait until 2002 to release this picture. Some people should do a little more research before a Collateral Damage Action Slam. This is an action Collateral Damage Action that offers at all levels, plot twists, for all the major characters, and in style Arnold; satisfying conclusion. Please Gordy's shoes for a moment and think what it would do justice when the U.S. agencies not lift a finger to help. |
