Since a road accident left him with serious facial and bodily scarring, a former 'TV scientist' has become obsessed by the marriage of motor car technology with what he sees as the 'raw sexuality' of car-crash victims. The scientist, along with a crash victim he has recently befriended, sets about performing a series of sexual acts in a variety of motor vehicles, either with other crash victims or with prostitutes who they contort into the shape of trapped-corpses. Ultimately, the scientist craves a suicidal union of blood, semen and engine coolant, a union with which he becomes dangerously obsessed.

Good acting and production values can not exceed derivatives and sophomoric script Paul Haggis. LA has done much better in shortcuts and Magnolia (Haggis adds a portion of the Grand Canyon for good measure). Altman and Paul Thomas Anderson directors are capable of vision-pounds with Haggis just what passes for emotion. When the snow began to fall in the Hollywood Hills toward the end of the film has been apparent that the first time, the director needed a mentor. The screenplay was predictable beyond the plot lines Telegraph in advance as an amateur boxer. This pseudo-intellectual look at racism and stereotypes of what is happening is serious in American cinema today.

I am pleased to see that I am not alone in thinking that this movie is a load of Twaddle (despite the fact that Don Cheadle in it) and is in the field of soap. Racism is the lowest of the low, but treatment in this contrived fashion is not fun and not doing well. The main problem is: the use of stereotypes, excessive coincidences and unbelievable, incredible changes in the character of the players, and try to get too many chapters that demonstrate racism in the same plot (if that is what can be called ). I should have known what to expect with Sandra Bullock in the cast list. On the other hand, my wife thought it was brilliant.
