Based on a true story, this twisting psychological thriller focuses on a serial arsonist whose terrifying six-year crime spree is juxtaposed with the increasingly desperate efforts of investigators to bring him to justice. Charged with investigating many of these fires is Captain John Orr (Ray Liotta), a legendary figure in the Glendale Fire Department, possessed with an uncanny ability to pinpoint the origins of a fire, as well as the devices by which an arsonist may have carried out the crime. Through a fingerprint left at the scene of one crime and a series of surprise revelations focusing on arsons set in several towns, the task force is able to close in on an unlikely suspect. . . and ultimately crack the case.

IMDB and the crowd did not seem to think much of him but I enjoyed it thoroughly. I think in many ways this production for HBO based on a stranger-than-fiction arson investigation is the best that small-screen productions can be. However, beware of aspiring filmmakers who do not follow the classic story of Sid's field goal. The film was directed by one of the best filmmakers in recent times, only to check his IMDB profile - http://us.imdb.com/Name?Sigel, Newton Thomas + +. I hope to see their future works. If the story catches your interest, you may want to locate a NOVA special entitled "Game of the series Arsonist", and compare the script to the facts of the case, including interviews with the investigator John Orr.

just ask anyone knows where I can obtain a copy of this movie? if someone can give me a link or otherwise? would be fully appreciated and helpful? Because you want to see this movie, but not sure where I can get a copy of it? one of my relatives is in this movie and I'm curious about what she did in this movie and how did it well .. he has done some other movies ... but not a lot of them. Fairly diverting procedure based on a real investigation of arson. A terrible score and some very strange sense that it does not really suit the story remains to ruin the movie for a performance of Ray Liotta. Directed by Thomas Newton sigelos done a wonderful, fast pace of thriller that is based loosely on a true story. Liotta and Leguizamo gives strong results in its functions. This film has a top supporting cast as Colm Feore, Cliff Curtis, Bai Ling, Illeana Douglas, Ronny Cox, Sophia Bush and Rachel Bilson. This film was made for television movies on HBO. Sigelos of the image is very stylized and looks like a movie theater as well. DVD has a strong Anamorphic Widescreen (1.78:1) and the transfer of a strong Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround Sound. DVD also includes a functioning quite interesting commentary track by director and the cast and crew information. Sigelos the film is very entertaining .... that keeps everything tight, along the top and short. No doubt it's worth seeing. (****/*****).
