While I was watching this DivX film Madigan I quite bright constantly thinking of the great passages in writing that you can hear everything. Moreover, Siegel direction is never less grip and helps the story with flashes of genius. The act benefits from a perfect cast in which no one seems out of place. I enjoyed Richard Widmark and Henry Fonda, of course, but also James Whitmore that about 25 years later, Frank Darabont also highlighted in "The Shawshank Redemption." A thin DVD movie Madigan as "Madigan" must have a powerful ending, and that is the case here. The last 10 minutes Siegel domain show at its best. The last shot comes unexpectedly and elegantly reaches point. Cop movies can be good or bad, but you should always be true. I recommend "Madigan" just for that.
At the end of the sixties there has been a tendency to rough policemen who are against the system - which is - but despite winning over all odds ... Richard Widmark was one of them ... In "Madigan" is a solid, capable detective from New York, as Quinn in "Across 110th Street," people know about their review and knows how to handle ... Unlike the character Quinn, however, is honest to the nth degree ... Kill him, hitting and destroying the great traps villains, however, remains a curious affection for the little criminals that cross their path ... One feels that if Madigan took a bribe, it would be secret and saw the evidence presented in court to ruin some bad ...
This is a very good DivX film Madigan - full of excellent performance and a very interesting story. Richard Widmark and Henry Fonda are wonderful, both the actors of the DivX film Madigan and their stories in parallel for most of the DVD film Madigan - with almost no interaction in the film. Harry Guardino, Inger Stevens, James Whitmore and some excellent support and the Madigan movie is very entertaining. In many ways it's like having a black DivX Movie Madigan in 1960, although with somewhat less "rough" for dialogue and a lot of sensitivities late 60s (a little nudity and graphic language in the first took me by surprise). Now this does not mean that the DVD film Madigan is unnecessarily free. I took a long time, first, listen to some of the insults that leave the mouth of some old-time players. In addition, and this Madigan Drama movie does not get better for me, there was some soap opera elements thrown in, as it often does not work. Fonda widower having to sleep with a married woman who had children only seemed seedy and not all fit with the character he had created. He is proud of his decency and integrity, but this does not seem to have much sense. However, tension between Widmark and his wife, Stevens, did the job very well, as you could see how being a detective can be really hard on a marriage. However, this was a very good DVD movie Madigan that seemed a bit like Dragnet, the TV soap opera and a POLICE STORY in one. Good things are worth seeing, although I hesitate to let younger children watch this DVD.
Madigan still ranks as the best movie: Madigan I saw police - and was not a dirty word in it! Widmark stands as "the arm" NYPD detective whose loose life style invites problems. Guardino is flying high as the constant police Widmark partner. The two policemen are hard street-good and not so common types sociologist today in police work. Fonda in the role of the lace curtain Irish police commissioner is a stranger to him, normally the top of the star, but in this case plays second fiddle to Widmark. Whitmore, with frequent traces of a Brogan, aces the role of police in New York's top uniformed police. Sheree North, and it is wonderful as a kind of heart in love with the bimbo Widmark.I am writing this almost 40 years after the DVD film Madigan was released and after seeing that at least 40 times. Still the best!
An interesting cast that includes a couple of my favorites, I did see the enthusiasm about this VHS at 90, decades after seeing the DivX Movie Madigan when he left. Boy, what a disappointment. Despite the cast, I found a bit boring. Only the beginning and the last 10 minutes of the Madigan film had some action. What he expects more of a tough history of crime. The remaining time is devoted to telenovelas materials such as police unhappy wives, or the cliché now get good policemen harassed by his boss, the key is a cop and a police officer of the initiative is totally misunderstood. Oh man, we saw a pile of garbage that came from this film! No, this was an overrated movie.
