| One of the most underrated war films of all time. Originally bombed at the box office, is based on the Vietnam War movie stars Michael J. Fox as Eriksson, a member of an American squadron stationed in the deepest of the jungles of Southeast Asia. After his friend is killed in the war, Sgt. Meserve (played by Sean Penn) wants revenge, so it takes his men to invade the home of a young Vietnamese girl (Thuy Thu Lee), and to take your order that the template to "have a little fun." Throughout the film, the template (excluding Eriksson) repeatedly gags, ties, and rape of innocent girls. When it is the turn of Eriksson to take a picture with the girl, does not want to do it. He tries to comfort her over to the girl child and ensure that it stays alive. Eriksson decided to try to help her escape the hell is going on, but you can not help himself. After the squad killed the girl, Eriksson report deals with the tragedy that has witnessed, and do justice to the front line, but his companions so loathe to try to do it. Definitely a must see. De Palma did not show any nudity during the rape scenes, but the film deserves the rating R. |
| This film was passionate, exciting and exhilarating at the same time! The plot of the Vietnamese girl was upset, what they really hate the soldiers and take pity. There was also a factor of intimidation body the main character! Sometimes I thought the film was bordering on sick! I just read that it was based on reality, which is quite disturbing, I thought the rape scene was too graphic for younger viewers, the film shows us virtually the entire rape. All around the movie is a piece well done, worthy of any movie collection. Caution should be exercised with respect to the view that this easily as annoying or ill may not be able to stomach this. | This is a true story of what happens in war when morals and ethics are tossed aside. The killing that is involved in the war is mixed with the murder, bigotry, revenge and in fact in this story of horror. Fox is excellent, as ethics, but naive young woman exposed to a "Nobody cares" atmosphere in the midst of war. The film not only shows what can happen to human beings if you release of any sense of conscience, but it is also a metaphor for the amoral mentality that was behind the conflict in Vietnam and its aftermath. The fight here is represented among go along with the group or maintain one's integrity. Are there rules of war? Are there rules of life? These are profound questions that underlie the action in this disturbing film. |
