See, this kind of film never has a chance in Hollywood, because the criticism of people in the U.S. always want to see some shoot-em-up, bullets flying action film when it looks like a police drama. I thought it was great, is not official about some in search of a murderer who turns out to be his son. This is abandonment and guilt and the consequences of the decisions of the character. Robert DeNiro plays Vincent La Marca, a distinguished New York police that her father was executed for kidnapping foiled when Vince was only 8. Vincent lived in an apartment building in Manhattan and spends most nights with his girlfriend / neighbor (McDormand in a wonderful role), which completely in the dark about his past. His junkie son Joey (Franco, who gave a great performance) still lives in Long Beach and has a son with his girlfriend Gina (Dushku, a great job as a single mother / recovering addict) who never sees. Both Vincent and Joey are affected by neglect. Vince struggles with his father and the execution of Joey deeply affected by her father walking on it. They have not seen in a long time until a tragic event pushes them together. Joey kills a man in self-defense on drugs and Vincent is assigned to the case. After some investigating Vincent discovers that the suspect is that her son Joey Nova Vincent causes to try to take your child live. Joey also are hunted by Spider, a cold-blooded murderer drug dealer that the "employee" was the man who was killed. Overall a good movie with great performances. To go and see.

The problem with this film is that it has real substance, real integrity. Men do not like it because it is too severe, and the bodycount is relatively low. Women do not like it because the message is for men. But that has not mistake on this image. It is telling tales of first class with a group of first-level actors. And the result is a terrible image that is hardly predictable (no matter what others may say reviewers). In the city of La Mar is a dark, unforgiving look at a dysfunctional family. It addresses the frailty and imperfection of a father who chose to retire rather than fight for his son during a divorce. It shows the almost total destruction of the child based on his father's absence. But it also tells the story of a father of epiphany, a son of salvation, and the brutal truths that guide this movie to one of the most denouements I've seen in years. No, this movie is not for everyone. If you go to the theater simply by distraction, choose another movie. If you bring a clicker for the movie so you can count the number of dead and maimed, this will be a disappointment. But if you want to see some great craftsmen dissect some sensitive issues and to do so, while construction of a very intriguing whodunit, this is your movie. One reviewer 6.2 rating, I wonder who is doing the review.
