In the year 1971, San Francisco faces the terror of a maniac known as Scorpio- who snipes at innocent victims and demands ransom through notes left at the scene of the crime. Inspector Harry Callahan (known as Dirty Harry by his peers through his reputation handling of homicidal cases) is assigned to the case along with his newest partner Inspector Chico Gonzalez to track down Scorpio and stop him. Using humiliation and cat and mouse type of games against Callahan, Scorpio is put to the test with the cop with a dirty attitude.

Dirty Harry is a great movie, and one of the best by mega star, Clint Eastwood. Harry is the kind of police that does whatever it takes to get results. Squinty eyes of the star is perfect in this action packed and sometimes disturbing success. Eastwood, with his unique brand of humor, and massive gun to steal the show, but with strong competition from Andy Robinson, who plays the bad guy, Scorpio. Robinson is great on paper, because at the end of the film, they really want to see him dead, at any cost. It has no redeemable features. Even anti-violent love to see him get punished. This view of Scorpio is also helped by the disturbing music that accompanies his scenes. This is a great movie and deserves the status of a classic 10/10

Frank Sinatra, John Wayne and Paul Newman were first choices for the role of Harry. Sinatra and Wayne were simply too old for the role and Newman was too light and should not have portrayed the stoicism that made Clint. The role of Scorpio was supposed to be played by Audie Murphy! Why not Woody Allen? Who did the previous election? Apart from the comments Dirty Harry was a great success! It's what people want to see. They've had enough of the madness spoken by the judge in the film. I want to congratulate the writers, Don Siegler director, and all those associated with this cinematic triumph. If anyone should have received a prize, or at least a nomination for best actor Andy Robinson is on his Scorpion. It was the most realistic game of a psychopath only equaled by Jessica Walter in "Play Misty for Me," also starring Eastwood. The only fault is to find Harry throwing away his ID card at the end. Absolutely no reason for it. All the sequels to prove this was one of the most attractive movies.
