Derry, Maine is a quiet town, terrorized every 30 years by a horror known only as 'It'. The only victims of 'It' are children. Through the form of a clown named Pennywise, 'It' wakes up every 30 years and feeds. The adults of Derry act like 'It' doesn't happen. Ironically they know about 'It', but the events are too horrible to talk about. Seven outcasts, know as The Lucky Seven, Bill, Ben, Beverly, Eddie, Richie, Mike, and Stan are able to defeat 'It' as children and make a pact to return and do battle again should the terror return. Now 30 years later, Mike Hanlon who stayed behind, is puzzled by a bizarre occurance of child murders. When he discovers that 'It' has come back, he reunites what's left of The Lucky Seven, now in their middle ages to do battle once again, and 'It' is ready. The Lucky Seven must now defeat 'It' and cure Derry of 'The Derry Disease'.

Attention! Saboteurs! When I read the novel by Stephen King, I fell in love. The people turned out to be more harm than Pennywise. The characters become your best friends. However, the book is not very big. He has let a few low points. Some of the scares in the book are forced and exaggerated. Looks like Stephen King is trying to write a Godzilla movie. Now a director responsible could have prevailed, but NO! We get stuck with Mr. Halloween 3 to himself, Tommy Lee Wallace. The film has some good points (read: Tim Curry as Pennywise the Clown), but generally comes across as a tense, 'Are you afraid of the dark? "Episode. The main flaw in the book and the movie shows too much on information technology. This really has to be played like a horror phsycological. Sorry, I'm just ranting. 2 stars, 5.

While the action in this version of Stephen King's it, is that the past rather, (it can be argued with Tim Curry as the clown), which, however, was stripped of a lot of issues that will go on television. It follows the general premise of the book, however, ignores huge sections of the events that occur to children, some of which are of vital importance for the development of character and plot. We lose some of the most beautiful aspects of their relations in this way. Moreover, the structure of the novel, although overwhelming, it was extremely successful, and lost again in the movie. While we could have done much worse, I urge people to read the book first. It is scarier, deeper, more complex, and a much better story.

I have read the book, and then taken from the movie. I've never had a disappointment, even taking into account that the adaptations of a book to the screen are not usually successful. Terrible acting especially in the second part when all the adults take over. The scenes cut very jerkily like the director was not sure how to transition into the next sub-story. The bottles of everything. Special effects are also a disappointment and so is the "dramatic" music. The book and the movie were at opposite ends of the spectrum - is enough. Ask yourself a favor and just read the book and pray that someone decides to make a film that does justice to the book and pick some players loser of the street.
