| If you're looking for a remake of the original movie, you'll be very disappointed. I have no idea whether it is closer to the book, since I never read it, but I do not really care. Two of my friends went to the oven and also hated. Johnny Depp did not come close to where this really the image as a lone nut did Gene Wilder, and the factory and oompaloompas has no magic, mystery or appeal of the original movie. And one of the best deleted scenes where Charlie and his grandfather were floating in the uprising Fizzy drinks. The only really good scenes involving Charlie's grandparents at home, were very funny and I loved the grandfather of a comment about the other winners of golden tickets. But in the end, I have never seen so many movies are disappointed attendees. If you really want to see, save $ 10 and wait for the DVD. |
| I have never in my life felt so bad for a film. I love movies. I especially love remakes of old movies, and sequels to old movies. How can anyone do worse? The original movie watching Gene Wilder was only worth seeing, ... because of Gene Wilder! The remake? I'm not going to pay money to see you again ... I would not have money to see it again. I'm very disappointed. While the trailers and their creator made me a little wary, I could never have been prepared for the bad performance, the music ... oompa loompa (s), or how poor the taste was in this movie. Wonka made a nut, ... and I even go into custom reason. |
| I went to see this film as I am a big fan of Johnny Depp, but I was totally turned off by it all. The pace is so slow that it was almost asleep, and I kept waiting for the magic moment to happen. Unfortunately, it never did. The opening was forever and a day - remember the wonderful entry makes Gene Wilder in the original? Well, Willy Wonka's entry here, with the stupid "song" of puppets, was just dire. In fact seemed embarrassed to be there. The parents of the "lucky winners" were one-dimensional to say the least, and although the children were OK, that the players were nothing to write home about. My 11-year-old son was with me to see this movie, and as we exit the theater wondering what it would have to say about it (and if I have to pretend that I had liked!), But the first thing you said, "Well, that is not the best movie I've seen. Bit of a disappointment really." I just felt that the director had squandered so many opportunities, not to try to emulate the first movie, but to put a bit of magic magnificent fresco on the story. Instead, all we got was long-term scenes, bad dialogue and a slightly embarrassed Johnny Depp. |
| The original Willy Wonka things left unsaid by us, we Burton remake the hit on the head with the elements because you have to be too stupid to understand anything. Why Charlie has to have a father in the remake? Would it hurt if the company does not? There is no heat to the film or the characters. He hated the stranger said, and sometimes mean spirit Wonka. The oompa loompas were terrible and it seemed lazy to me by the doubling of a person. I can not go because I do not remember the other things that bothered me and there is no way that I can get through this poor excuse for a movie to refresh my memory. I am trying to suppress that part of my memory. Awful. |
