| When I read about this movie, I was expecting another low-budget, straight-to-DVD movie-camera unstable with music corny, lame actors, and a very predictable, repetitive plot. Of course, everyone knows, there are about 1 in 100 chance of direct to DVD horror movies are DECENT. However, that 1 in every 100 is a pleasant surprise. And this movie is a perfect example. The film basically revolves around these two teenagers who witness the "drowning" of the local Redneck truck driver. He gets into an accident with the grandmother of one of his friends, a voodoo priestess. He opens his' suitcase 'and receives an unpleasant surprise, before his car fell on the bridge that crashed into the water. Soon, his body disappears, and well as on. The plot is very solid, with a small "What the hell?" S time to time. He is really decent, and there are many scenes of deaths (ie, good special effects). It is not really a variation on the 'fear' music played, and the camera is sound, the lighting is usually great, and the actors talk. It's really a great movie. I started to see that expecting anything, but I was pleasantly surprised. Do not expect a million-dollar budget, but its a damn good movie! |
| This film has elements of the House of the Dead, especially with Ray and the crypt at the end and was even worse than the House of the Dead that was not even possible to think! Especially the final which is the most unintelligent crap I've seen in my life. There was not a good kill, does not comply with resolutions or character development, relationships do not sympathize, just a really stupid movie. This was not horror, this is just horrible. Great horror movies are out there, many of South Korea and in reality these days, literally, blow this shit to dust. Two words sum this movie and the latest horror movie trend in Hollywood: So, dumb. I missed Nightmare on Elm Street 1 and 3, when a plot was constructed and unreality creepiness is an atmosphere in itself! Halloween 1 and 2. Friday 13 very beginning had the right to the truth of the abnormal state of mind and out. A tale of Two Sisters, the original not the remake Dark Water, the original Ring 0 and even Verbinski The Ring was nice. Where has all the scary movies go? | I have to admit, I love horror movies ... Slasher movies especially 80. Hell, even love as cheese and Sleepaway Camp Night of the Demons. But, I do not think much of this movie. The scenes of death was not very well done, the CGI was terrible, and are ho-hum. Worst of all is the story that makes no sense at all. I'd say save your money, but the chances are, if you want to see this movie ... going to anyway. I do not hate ... is not only very good. In general, is just another bland, lifeless horror film that has no life (it is not surprising that this was one on the platform in the dimension of more than a year after it was completed). |
