"Layer Cake" the neo noir film by Matthew Vaughn, making his directorial debut, shows a man with an enormous potential to do much better in future projects. The film, based on JJ Connelly's novel, is a study of the drug business by some ruthless people who are making big money with their illegal trade. The point in the case, the name of the hero of the story that the figures he has played the game right now and is about to make an exit from the company. Soon you should know that his friend Jimmy Price has other ideas for implementing what will undoubtedly driven by a desire for him in trouble, as is the case. "Layer Cake" cries for a second window. In fact, it is likely to be a requirement, because they make things clearer for the viewer can get lost in this story with many twists and turns. Daniel Craig is best thing going in the movie. In fact, he kept reminds us of a young Steve McQueen, because of their behavior and how cold it seems to move effortlessly throughout the film. Kenneth Cranham as Jimmy Price, also is another actor whose contribution is an asset in the film. Michael Gambon, agile and Tanner, is a fresco capo rules of a vast empire. Colm Meaney is also excellent, as well as the extensive cast. Look for the next film by Matthew Vaughn! |
Another warm cookie cutter drug Caper thematic referential way to children on that island near France. While people liked it a lot, and I have a cool hat at Sundance hot of a girl who says "Layer Cake" (which I wear on cold days of snowboarding, but I took a black Sharpie to the yellow letters), this movie is a leading example of style over substance. Maybe I'm old-fashioned, but unless you are Raymond Chandler, keep your voice to a minimum. And seeing what people are saying they are / were about to or simply do not make me crawl (yes, I started a sentence with "and" blarg). Players have to do something-do-anything, but tell me what they are doing. Some in spite of the fun. There are some interesting shots, but I wanted to see a movie, not to be persuaded to buy a car or perfume or a brand of beer. And in the ranting note, stop using songs from "bleeding" lazy to montages. Scorsese did, Herzfeld indeed funny, and now it is done. Stay away. The film is strangely ahead with visual effects, but it seems that almost ran out of money for opticals after the second reel. I wanted to like this movie, really did. Unfortunately, quite sucked. I know I'm in the minority, but he was lazy and uninspired. Sorry. |
There are some brilliant British gangster movies out there, some of them include 'Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels "and" Snatch. " There seems to be around a few at the moment, but they are all starting to get it a little and a little boring. Well, now that is over, "Layer Cake" is magnificent and has some of the brightest and realistic gangster characters I have ever seen. The film contains a brilliant soundtrack and one of the most powerful scenes I've seen when Monty beats the hell of a former figure of the crime. The scene where "El Duque" is dead is excellent and is so well done that I had to see that scene about a hundred times to get the full impact of it. Forget the bad performance of 'Sexy Beast' and 'Love Honor and obey, "this movie is excellent. He's so good that you must, essentially, the rent for that reason. A must see. |
I like layer cake, but you really need to do with subtitles as it is much easier to follow all of the characters. Michael Gambon was excellent, but not much to see Malcolm MacDowell? I liked Daniel Craig in this movie, but as James Bond ... I do not think so. Clive Owen would have been a better choice because it shows the "I" ll sleep when "I'm dead." What would an intelligent woman in doing a film about life under gangsters, not just fit. All the characters were very well written and maybe we'll see more of the same this screenwriter. I think that the British are far superior to make gangster movies with intricate plot lines then anyone else. My five British gangster films are as follows: The Long Good Fidai Gangster No. 1 layer of cake I will sleep when I'm dead ... and one with the two brothers, I do not remember the name ... anyone? |
