I enjoyed this movie, but the thing about it for me was the impressive performance of Viggo Mortensen. I had never seen him before, and actually found myself wondering how the Navy had authorized him to make a movie. My husband was in the army and for me, this was so real that it is unreal. I could not take my eyes off him - talk about a scene thief. I made a point of seeing the credits to find out his name and made a mental note to see him in the future. I knew I was going to be a big star, who once saw his other work. I liked his performance in "Albino Alligator" and I'm waiting for "A Walk on the Moon," not only for its performance, but for the entire cast as a whole! |
GIJane was better than I expected. Demi Moore plays an official who is trying to become a Navy Seal and has to fight against the odds against tha sexism, the policy of AMD endurance to make the grade. Although totally predictable in every way very well received. |
Demi Moore shines with shiners and a little more often in a brutal film about the first woman to enter the elite NAVY SEALs training. While some scenes in the movie, like the confusing final battle, it seems a bit out of place (exactly who the students fighting?) The film moves along with surprising speed and precision. Moore, who as everyone knows shaved her head for the role of Jordan O'Neill, is tough, but feminine and vulnerable, like a woman scorned by their male colleagues. The most violent scene in the film is the survival during the period in which O 'Neill is about to bash by the Head Teacher. It is terrible but necessary, and O'Neill wins his fellow training, support during the test. |
When this movie came out first, I was semi-interested in it, not enough to go and see it in theater, because this is not the kind of movie that I'm usually a fan. When was broadcast on television, I decided I would give him a chance, and I must say that for the most part, it was quite a nice movie. The most attractive part of this movie, I have to say without a doubt, Viggo Mortensen. I have seen him in several movies, and he never fails to steal every scene is in. He has a magnetic, enigmatic presence on the screen. The scene of struggle between him and Demi Moore, I have to say, was really well done, and I have to say that although I am a HUGE fan of Viggo, he deserved that. Demi Moore was also very good in this movie. I'm not really a fan of Demi, but I must say that incredibley is refreshing to see a movie with a woman who can demonstrate that it is strong and able, without resorting to the typical cliche that lines of "hard" women always use the Most of the films, which I think is absolutely disgusting and nauseating. |
Demi Moore gave a good performance in a role that suits her very well. I can understand that her character is coming from when she said that she did not want to become a poster figure of the advancement of women in the army and society in general. However, being that she was the only woman in the Navy Seal training camp, it is kind of inevitable for that to happen. Therefore, their nature of the Commission were unnecessary. Viggo Mortensen was excellent as the Master Chief. I found myself liking her character even after we beat the shit out of Demi Moore in a training game gone wrong. That scene was brutal, but very necessary. In this case, the message is that social equality in the military sphere does not only mean that men and women get an equal share of the pie, but they both get an equal share of the pain. SPOILER: I would have liked to see Anne Bancroft in the character of Moore's side into the final, but as politics goes, that only cared about how re-elected. This is a good reality for the viewer. I recommend this movie. |
I was surprised by this film. Go on, I was sure this would be a film designed solely to advance the issues of women's rights and equality of the sexes. Instead, the film squarely, but rather demonstrates the undeniable differences between men and women. Demi Moore was outstanding in this movie - I think is his best role yet. The film is provocative and exciting. Definitely not a disappointment at all, but a film of the squeamish may want to avoid. There are some mildly graphic scenes. There are also some memorable lines! |
