Wow! What a great movie "Rocket Science" turned out to be. I found the quality of the acting in this film to be almost perfect and I felt that the main character in the film has acted perfectly and I think we should be able to remain in the acting business! I found all the measures to be really great! The sarcasm and wit of the dialogue was wonderful! The director did a great job with this movie! I thought it was a bit like a Todd Solondz movie only had their differences. I was really pleased with the overall quality of the film. I thought it was perfectly directed and acting and the script for this film was also perfect. The plot was so sophisticated and unusual that I felt myself kind of constantly tell myself: "wow ... reminds me of myself." I could really feel what the main character goes through, it could refer to the capacity of its kind to expel those who want to attract. It is high school, which does things like that? The funny thing about this movie is that of dialogue and character development. I found the dialog box to suit each character's personality in such a beautiful way. This movie is about my letters ... I'm hoping to get a DVD so you can be fast on the purchase and enjoy it whenever I want! This film will surprise no one, and get some risitas of its viewers in a wonderful and unusual way! 9 |
One of the last few years the best script and a breakdown in the execution of the natural Reece Thompson says Rocket Science in 2007 is the largest list of sleepers. Unlike the overrated Juno, by Jeffrey Blitz stimulating script almost never rings hollow, though some of these students from secondary to the fact that pregnant women sound like a whippersnapper age of three. Here, however, unrealistic, as hyper-articulate debate in this high school team, indie-style romance dramedy feels, Blitz has the rare ability to merge seamlessly with a lot of offers clumsiness and create something far superior then a saber-fest. Neurotic imagination summarizes this is the talent Thompson (among other very good performances castes) who as a young, more accessible Jason Schwartzman, a trait annoyingly exploited in the discomfort stuttering and mines in a tender, reflective age of characterization to be inspire even the most cynical of introverted. Filled with scene after scene of a much simpler whim perceptive then what Hollywood continually dumb down the interpretation of independent film that is used, Rocket Science blasts with personality and style to spare. |
On the brink of exhaustion after a week at Sundance, I sat in a comfortable plush seat in a theater that was not really a theater, but rather a library converted into a theater. Usual between midnight showing three and a half watching the film one day, I had slept in the last two, (trust me, I did everything in the book to try to keep my mind) and thought this would be the third started slouch down in this sumptuousness of a chair, but suddenly, the music catchy, witty dialogue, and stimulate visual has encouraged me. I was literally on the edge of my seat, hanging on every word uttered Hal Hefner. It is very fresh, entertaining continuously, and even deeply profound. However, in a good way. Which is quite unusual, not only in the movies, but really in life. He teenage angst and the mid-life crisis a little lightly, even hilarious. And who would think it would be funny. In any case, this is a memorable story, leaving you with a sense of infinity, and the wisdom of approaching the serious things with a little humor. |
This has to be the best dialog box in any movie ever made with a stutterer as a central character. I found the letter perfect performances, not a false note anywhere. This is a movie where even the bit parts are played well by casting agents, producers and not enough boyfriends or girlfriends. I loved the girl into the bathroom with a nosebleed, for example. Perfect. Rushmore did not come to mind when I saw this movie, nor any of the other "extravagant" movies name here by other reviewers. But I did think of it as a companion piece "Welcome to the Dollhouse." Both established in NJ, and the two central characters at the bottom of their social rank school, and cope with their realities better than one might think. I especially liked the relationship between adults and children in this film. The adults (parents and teachers) will know about children, and children are so wise about the adults. The tone was fair. I am surprised that this film provokes so many negative comments here. I enjoyed reading the Rant for the guy who defines cello "Chello." I think more or less explains. Literacy is necessary to appreciate this movie. |
I saw this movie earlier this year, at a preview screening. The fresco is that I had no idea what it was, I did not even look at it for an outline of the plot. I was very pleasantly surprised. It's a very good film, definitely worth seeing. The soundtrack is very timely theme of the movie, too. It is of some of the comments that I read here, some people simply do not like this movie. I can not find a reason for that. I noticed that with young people, this movie does not seem to be as popular as others. This film is very linear when it comes to how things really are. You can refer to several main characters and their struggles in life. If you're expecting a slapstick, not realistic comedy with tons of shock value, go and see Wedding Crashers (which I love incidentally). If you want to see a movie with intelligent dialogue with a good message and a great performance, go see Rocket Science. My rating of 10. |
All the time I was watching the science of rocket gvt I was smack by the actions of the entire cast, but in particular, Anna Kendrick and Nicholas D'Agosto. Their performances are unlike anything I've seen in years! I think it is difficult to portray a character who hate and love quite like Anna has done in this movie, and even now .. I'm still thinking ..? but above all is love;) Seriously, for the last 2 decades or so, Hollywood has lacked the capacity to produce anything that even resembles "originality" and usually only chews and spits out a recombination of 3 or 4 stories have been told over and over instead .. ... and for that reason alone, probably will not have one or two people who do not even appreciate this film because it is not that run of the mill of shit that are also used. But honestly, who met the cast of this movie deserves a big pat on the back. I can not think of another name that might fit the profile of these characters so perfectly! I wonder how the hell came the 'R' rating yet? Come on, their language and sexual content was on par with "Lost in Translation" What ..? Whether you're 25 or 12, see this film alone, without distractions and no one to influence their reactions and loves this movie, is very intelligent. I recommend it highly! |
