| I'm not a fan of the films of war, but I love this movie. I think it's brilliant. I cry every time I see it, and I am moved by his image not only of the war, but the feelings of the soldiers who fought in Vietnam. I know it is based on the real experiences of writers, but others who do not know is the basis of the facts. In this movie, however, I do not think it matter much. One has the feeling of a home movie, but the power of a Blockbuster. I am tired of seeing more movies with the real budget no heart, plot or talent. Tigerland is not one of those films. It was the first thing you bought it on DVD, and I see at least once a month, if not more.I is not a fan of Colin Farrell until I saw this movie. I had heard all the hype about him, but I thought it was just another pretty face. Then, looking at Tigerland, I was convinced of his talent. I can only hope that more people find this movie, and see what an amazing piece of film that really is. |
| For me this was Colin Farrells best film EVR! He was presented to the United States through this movie and it was great. He really has you in its charictor and did u feel the passion was put into his role. In my opinion, this is a great movie and my favorite. |
| The dehumanizing effect of war is a very studied the subject in film, as is the dehumanization alike, but potentially save lives, dehumanizing effect of military training. Joel Schumacher's "Tigerland" follows the standard model, we see that men treated like dirt, but leave as soldiers, with a degree of mutual respect for their commanders, and the trial is reserved about whether such a process can be extreme considered justified, as is the ruling on the merits of the war to those being trained (usually, as here, Vietnam). However, 'Tigerland' has an interesting take on his mind focused on a cocky dissident named Bozzo (exceptionally well played by Colin Farrell), which comprises all the power that ultimately governed by consent, and lack of awareness among the powerlessness of their own complicity. Around this character, one teaches, grasp the plot has been constructed, and is also one more than the action never stops America (which Stanley Kubrick's' Full Metal Jacket ", to cite just one other film of the same type, a After missing the focus of action shifted to Asia).
