| This movie was very good. I enjoyed all the performances (in particular, Matthew McConaughey and Jenna Elfmann) and the premise was cute. I do not usually like comedies, but I had a laugh from most of the way through. I think some of his critics were looking for something deep or a point in this (perhaps something about the dangers of the reality of our world obsessed TV), but saw it as strictly entertainment in order to entertain his audience. |
| EDTV is a great movie that shows that life in the cameras can be very annoying after a long period of time. Ed is a normal guy who thinks that fame could prove to his advantage when slowly and surely, he realizes that he has a bad name after the after effects of family and loved ones are bothered by the cameras in his face too. Jenna Elfman, who played the hippie Dharma and Greg wife, didn't really fit into the movie in my opinion. perhaps another lady principal, like Renee zilweger or leelee sobelki would have done better performance. this movie is sometimes in TBS, and often do several repeats over and over again, so if you have the opportunity to watch cable, and then see EDTV. |
| EDTV is about an American TV named Ed who lives in a small residence in the suburbs of New Jersey. One day EDTV to the window and saw an elegant Japanese high-definition television in the house next door and falls immediately in love. The two communicate through switching channels and speaking through programming. EDTV and his girlfriend of contacts and play to their respective owners until one day the elegant Japanese model comes to live with EDTV, when their owners get married. The two television hook-up and give birth to a portable TV that is used in the new nursery. Well, the movie is nothing about the plot, but it is more interesting than anything in the Ron Howard movie. Rent The Truman Show, The Cable Guy, Celebrity, Amazon Women on the Moon, or The Brave Little Toaster of similar items that are better. |
| If you are a fan of reality shows, and then you will like this film about a boy normal daily life filmed 24-7, except that this time we really know about it. Ron Howard directs Matthew McConaughey as Ed 'Eddie' Pekurny, he is the man chosen for a new reality show to launch a TV channel ratings. EDTV not start small, but after a week or so is the biggest star of TV that is only famous for being him. In his life on TV he is involved with Jenna Elfman as Shari, Woody Harrelson and his brother Ray Pekurny, Sally Kirkland as Jeanette, Oscar winner Martin Landau as Al and many others. Also starring the director Rob Reiner as Mr. Whitaker, a brief Dennis Hopper as Henry 'Hank' Pekurny, Ed's dad, Elizabeth Hurley as Jill, Harry Shearer as moderator, Michael Moore and Jay Leno. It's a good film that shows the highs and lows of reality TV, but not as good as the Truman Show. Good! |
