| Let me say first off that I am not in this set of the action-thriller-biting their nails, coloring ceramics by the film .... something that is good, because this movie is more a drama that otherwise. I was reminded a bit of "The Shawshank Redemption" (another great movie) with Stephen Dorff is Tim Robbins and Morgan Freeman is Val Kilmer (the comparison is a bit forced, but remain valid with the two films plot something similar). The film offers a varied palette very emotional, tear break with all the explicit scenes of violence serious thanks to the incredible by Dorff, Kilmer and Perrineau, really what his characters to life. However, one of the best dramas of action that I've seen ..... definitely should see a movie. |
| NOTE: This is a violent film. With action and real-life situations. It is not for everyone. A man in his path towards the establishment of a good life for himself and his new bride to be, is placed in a situation of protecting his family. In doing so, then is immersed in a judicial nightmare that will sink further into a dark abyss of dog-eat-dog world of the prison. I must say that the performance is just excellent in all areas. The direction of Ric Roman Waugh (who also wrote this wonderful piece), was incredible. The outstanding performance of Harold Perrineau as Lt. Jackson is classic. His extraordinary ability to do what hatred is so great. Val Kilmer pulled off one of the best portraits of a lifer I've ever seen in a movie. There are very few flaws that I have seen in this drama. I loved it from start to finish. |
| The family man Wade Porter (Stephen Dorff) is living the American dream with his girlfriend Laura (Marisol Nichols) and his son Michael: have a nice house, which just raised a loan to grow your business and they're getting married . But his dream becomes a nightmare when Wade accidentally kills a thief who had broken into his house in the middle of the night on his lawn. He is sent to trial and accept an agreement proposed by the prosecutor, be sentenced to three years in prison. During transport, there is an incident on the bus and Wade is framed and sent to the maximum security wing under the command of Lieutenant corrupt Jackson (Harold Perrineau). His cell-mate John Smith (Val Kilmer), who was sentenced to life revenging the deaths of his family befriends Wade and gives useful tips and hope Wade returning to his family. The good "criminal" is another film that reveals the corruption and brutality in the American penal system, where the rules of a civilized society are not followed by inmates or by the majority of security guards. The dramatic story is the involvement, and that is good to see Val Kilmer again have a high level of performance after a long period of weak movies. Stephen Dorff is also great in the role of a family man who is unjustly imprisoned to protect his family and dehumanizes and desensitizes to survive in jail. The conclusion is unrealistic and moralistic trade, reducing the power and impact of the plot. My vote is seven. Title (Brazil): "offender" |
| This was just great, guys - I loved it! He was great, the script was great, the cast was great! I was really shocked by the actions and history in this film. It was made me realize that I take a lot of things for granted in this world. As easily as waking in the morning - the same ease and speed of your life can be the other way around. This film perspectivates's own life and in the end, what you're left with is the sense of fulfillment and the need to do something good for those who love - or find someone to love and take good care of them. A bit ironic and bloody end - but in general - as one of the other reviews said - a huge movie! ... And Val Kilmer - OMG - great job, DUDE! What a great experience, guys! | This movie was incredible, read the DVD and the case was intriguing, but I thought it was going to be a disappointment. In fact, I was shocked too big and kept me in suspense and thinking, as the DVD back said, "Could happen to anyone." This really make you think of all the times you have thought or said how and what would you do if every time someone broke into his home .... criminal makes you think that this could happen to me, and that alone is a terrifying thought. Especially after the realistic description of what prison is like the everyday life of common man and how they can do something your not. Moreover, how the action of the other (situation Kilmer) who can influence do act out! Usually explain, but to figure out why Kilmer is too .... it could be you! The fight scenes are steeped in action, by Kilmer and Dorff is unbelievable ... Far from Blade and heat .... but actions as good if not better! Def a movie to buy and own .... def a movie to see and appreciate what you have! Beware! Def is going to buy, I think it was right to a meaningful DVD .... |
| I like the action too much. Everything seems to fast forward .. There is not only stale moment. The fight scene is impressive and the criminals were very convincing. The plot was very well executed. I love it. But I must say that I do not like the "effect of Cloverfield. It felt like I'm going to look for vomit in the agitation effect. I know I guess I bring the humph to the film, but kids, common .. there is no need for the effect if you only receive the salary (from the film). I would like to highlight the details taken by the team so much real example .. .. the toilet dirty and the tattoo on the offender actors. However, it is a good movie to see. I highly recommend. |
