| 'Kiss Kiss Bang Bang' was marketed absurdly (in the UK at least) almost like an art, film, but it is actually the kind of film purely for entertainment that Hollywood used to be able to do in their sleep. The film has no pretensions, the plot is convoluted, but essentially irrelevant, and the success of the film is based on the witty dialogue and interaction between participation, offbeat characters. Robert Downey is too old for his role and Michelle Monaghan too young for her but that, along with Val Kilmer as Gay Perry, giving excellent results. I hope to see more of Shane Black, who also wrote the hokum underrated "The Long Kiss Goodnight." |
| I was lucky to see a preview of Kiss Kiss, Bang, Bang on a 'mystery' movie in the Rivoli Theater in Melbourne recently. I really do not know what I was expecting, but I was not expecting to enjoy the movie as the background as I did. The film revolves around Harry (Robert Downey JNR), a petty thief who escapes while in an audition for a new film by detectives. After hearing a fun, that shook the bright lights and parts of Louisiana. I will not go too in the story to anyone because it was far from the unpredictable nature of the film. It is worth seeing only for Val Kilmer Gay Perry! |
| "Kiss Kiss Bang Bang" is another film in one of my genres for: an action / comedy, where the action (albeit fast) plays secondary to some intriguing characters and great dialogue. There are a lot of great things in this movie. There is a hilarious flashback scene overacted children's participation magic tricks right at the beginning, that the train starts rolling. There are a lot of rapid fire jibes and insults in this film that make it a real ball at the clock, and at no time did not take the movie too seriously. The only thing I have in my nerves was the continuation of the narration by Robert Downey, Jr. In my opinion, it is really hard to write and deliver continuous narration in a movie. Only a few writers can do so, and only a few players who can offer. Unfortunately, I do not think that neither can handle here. Personally, I think we could have had the opening of the narration and the rest in bags, it becomes unnecessary and even distracting. Otherwise, the renowned filmmakers and actors to make an entertaining piece of work. |
