| Six of the Reason Why is an echo of previous creations of Sergio Leone and Sam Peckinpah, if a smaller scale. If you like these filmmakers, it's likely that you will appreciate SRW. If you do not know these filmmakers, their still worthwhile to seek their levels of narration, and again take the old school of the West. After watching the film, I was quite impressed, knowing that this film was shot with a shoe-string budget, not really crossed my mind while I was watching. That in itself is quite a feat. We also work with relatively unknown actors (apart from Feore, who are scenes of short, but sweet), one might think that a lightning strike, without rhythm, the interest may be fading. No. In fact, is based on the whole film, as each character's past and the reasons come to light. Some are explained more than others, leaving some questions, but in a good way to a man without a name. The story is narrated in a Tarantino-Esquire, the nonlinear format that leaves the viewer hanging, and the slow construction of the inevitable comparison is made with strong stylized dialogue, splashes of violence and some beautiful eye candy shots. This film is not for the impatient, but if you stick to it, you will find rewarding her with post-apocalyptic setting hinted, cryptic storytelling, and an outcome that will leave you wanting to know more about the history, after the movie ends. A great little indie film. Qudos to the Campagna Bros., waiting to see what comes next. |
| If you're a fan of Sergio Leone's classic spaghetti westerns, you'll love this. The Campagna really understand that it takes time to build the mood of a movie and to engage the public, who do care about the characters and their stories. Watching this film felt like someone has discovered the loss of Sergio vault, and inside the latter was a gift to us. I've never seen another film captures the style of filmmaking, music and the mood of a film Leone, as have the Campagna. Even more impressive is that they did so with a budget of $ 12,000, which only goes to show that money is not a substitute for the passion. Do not be fooled by the arms and jeans. This is not a 'movie', this is a "film". It is a work of art and should be seen more than once for one to fully appreciate the history, images and music. |
| ... I have been disappointed in this represents a low-budget Indie. This film is a bit of a stretch I would say. Casting a fresh bunch of 20-somethings are faced with new beards, earrings, and barely a cowboy to understand the dialect does not do much for a film billing itself as a Westerner. The convoluted narrative left me with a complete lack of interest about half of the film. The result was very good, decent cinematography, but I'm sorry, I just could not do so until the end. Next time, try to adapt your script to fit best with the resources they have available. |

You start thinking you are doing cheap - but it is not. The creators have an innate feel and understanding of what the adult "Western" sought to illuminate. The focus is the men and their past, all strangers meeting in the desert. And the desert as a crucible from which the Truth and survival is forged. No spoilers here, it would be an insult to the film from the creators. . . Therefore, they have a beer or a glass fence and ready Watch the video. And just try to find out who is who. The ending will surprise you. |
