This is an indie film doing what an indie film should do: shocks, breaks the rules, and entertains. I had not heard too much before seeing other than a recommendation from a friend, but I was impressed with the film. The production value and talent of the players were very good. Very interesting artistic photos and a great use of wide-angle lens. The actors are also a treatment is facing a new talent. The story was well written, predictable at some points, but never interesting. He had a very nice pace to it building the order in a crisp three-act structure. I loved the artwork. The art played an important role throughout the film. The seal was impressive piece. He played throughout the history very well. I was also impressed with the publication of the sequence during the party scenes. It's very cool. A bit unusual, but very effective. The style is reminiscent of quick jump cuts of breath or, more recently, Brick. What is more important: the last 15 minutes made the movie! He spent a suspenseful thriller of all that horror - Beautiful complex representation of human emotions and behavior. It is absolutely worthwhile to verify. |
Blur thought was a solid debut for the film of Nick Briscoe. Well written with a great history and a twist ending that no one would expect. The location is fantastic ... so good that it is difficult to believe that it is his debut in the film. The camera angles, lighting and editing are all higher than what one would expect from a small independent film. He is a little on the part of fans, the only thing that keeps this film from being a 10. However, it is hoped that in a small indie film like this. If you enjoy movies on hold and surprise endings in the tradition of The Sixth Sense, I recommend you monitor Blur. All things considered, I would say you can expect great things from Nick Briscoe and Belvedere Films in the future. Given a much larger budget, I think the sky is the limit. |
We know your low budget. We know it was all filmed in one location. But that's what I wonder about something. With all the money saved on the filming costs, there could be someone kicked in a little for some acting lessons? This was so difficult for me to see ... in fact, I turned off the mark in 60 minutes. I challenge to do even more. What if they say do more? Anyone who is really boring. Or, they were able to laugh at her. Unfortunately, I was not bored enough to do that, nor will I be able to laugh at their stupidity. I will not say the paintings were bad. Especially the movie's poster. Unfortunately that was the best part of the film. Remember, this is me going to see a movie, not a kid going to an art show. |
I will not dwell on this, so I'll get out of the way first. This movie has one of the most redundant 'twisted' in the history of cinema. It is absolutely regrettable bloody. As for the film itself is marred by bad acting to even look out of place in the midst of his TV movie. There is no visual atmosphere, there's no suspense or tension, the soul is filled with stereotypical characters in the production of reams annoying and forced philosophical dialogue, and features some of the more monotonous "part" of music you could meet. What is low-budget filmmakers with aspirations of low similarly? You may very well not have a big budget for its soundtrack, but I can assure you if you look around, even a little you'll find a bunch of decent musicians willing to supply material to any bit of money. It is also too long, with the aforementioned 'twist' clumsiness bolted to the end of a long and throughout the experience. Just do not bother with him. Seriously. |
I'm always intrigued to see low-budget films and to see how, in any event, which for the tight budget. For a low budget and a film director's debut, the film exceeds the expectations of any marginal and deliciously presents a chilling story through a unique, visual approach. Since the beginning of the film, director Nick Briscoe, captures the mood with a style reminiscent of Hitchcock very much in the way the camera slowly tampers with the feelings of the characters who remain in an unusual, or sometimes Difficult to distance the audience. As a result, is a technique that, like the master of suspense created, divided voyeurism of paranoia. However, in Blur, Briscoe tells the story through visual images that represent something more than the aforementioned feature. As the story takes us through a mystified vision of the main features of the sexual paranoia and delusions, presents us with the idea of becoming a blurred identity. During the scene at the party, with all the clothes and wearing masks, references to Greek mythology are presented and suggests the main message of the story. However, what makes this low-budget film impressive is that the story succeeds in creating ambiguity, we have to find a specific message found through visual representations, and looking below the surface. While it may seem like a simple story, there is a strange complexity in the way the film is structured. Highly recommend! |
