| I do not know why I got a low rating, I really enjoy Conan the Destroyer. I was not as good as the first, but it's a very good sequel, and definitely worth seeing. Good acting, good music, special effects could have been better, but still good. Look at this! Arnold did a good job with this movie. I think one of the reasons why people thought it was not good was because it was either confused or bored. It is not boring at all. And it was a bit confusing, because it is a fantasy adventure movie! Look at Lord of the Rings, which is fantasy, only that everyone loves! What .... |
| While the original "Conan the Barbarian" was more dramatic, the sequel is played more than laughter. However, it is still a very entertaining movie sword and sorcery fantasy. The music is again outstanding and carries the film, where dialogue fails. In the note, in particular, is of Wilt Chamberlain's impressive performance as the overwhelming Bombatta. He has a great screen presence, rather than their height (more than he had to do his own stunts!). There are many memorable scenes throughout the film. It is not a cerebral film, just good old fantasy! |
| I wondered why a lot of people hate this movie .... I saw the first .... is really big ... but I could not see the intention of this again and again ... because it was pretty slow and boring .... but it is a powerful film indeed! ! But this sequel ... Conan the Destroyer is certainly much better than the original! i kept on seeing this movie several times! This is truly one of the greatest rock movie ever made! the cast is big, strong performances by the actors and actress ... Arnold especially for himself and Grace Jones .. they were absolutely brilliant! Not only that, also loves the music in this sequel ... the action is superbly great! i doubt if there are more films like this ... nothing more to say ... This is great! better than the original! going to get this movie as fast as you can! Do not miss it! rent or buy! you will not regret! 10/10 **** (magnificently large) |
| A good film but not as good as the original. The original Conan the Barbarian was a low-budget "B" movie with a great plot and excellent use of special effects for its day. The Destroyer has a increased budget (probably because of the success of the first a), with better effects (the creature at the end) but has plot slipped a bit in response to the need to make more money outside Conan legacy. I am glad we stopped here, I wonder how it really could have arrived. Joeyfro -- |
| The plot moves at a fair old pace of a large set piece to another and obviously the movie had a decent budget. In fact, I would say that this is excellent gum sword and sorcery fodder, except for a few minor but annoying quirks. On the one hand the comedy companion Malak is phenomenally irritating, poorly acted, and takes all the tension, so the interest of any scene. It is obvious that they were going for a wider "family" appeal with this movie, but this too was clearly a decision taken long ago by the process of filming. Most hits, obviously, this house during the fight scenes with some very choppy cut as some of the most horrible bits have been removed. Conan and the second encounter with the camel suffers from this too! Apart from the fact that the cast carry out their duties with aplomb, Grace Jones, in particular, through its real nature of the joy of loving and fighting. One of the best hack and slash movies there. |
| With most of the returning cast, I thought Conan the Destroyer would be another adventure of awakening - although my expectations about the "quality" was low to begin with - however, this does not have any of the original inspiration glorifies in. From start to finish, when the action is poorly shot, or poorly conceived; trying to reach a younger audience (for more box office revenue) and setting aside the hyperbole-like violence. Now, looking back some of the cast gave a warmth to my heart, but the acting, and the characters portrayed in this film are frankly awful. Nothing that happens to these people different from the way they were in the first, nor the more recent members seem deep. The monsters are not impressive, and the sets to make terrible special effects. The story, is also mediocre, and very Kiddy. Still, definitely skip this if you liked or loved Conan the Barbarian. You have not any of the emotions or the adventures of the first, and I only recommend it to the craving for more. |
| Saboteurs-short of what God a disappointment. First I have to say, I loved Conan the Barbarian, 2nd probably my favorite movie of all time. It is well written and well directed. The characters are convincing. They were dirty and unkempt. Fearsome waiting ... and best of all, could ACT! Unfortunately this has none of these elements. Its pure cheese eighties. They traded the realistic, dirty oscura search oiled muscles, clean looking film b costumes, and feathered hair. The act is the essence of the wood. While the thief in the first movie was a little frightening, his counterpart in this ridiculous is a coward who does not fit at all (and what is with the New Yawkish accent?). The first was established in a believably asianesque / Mongolian adjustment. This is about establishing, apparently in a kind of fantasy realm (where are the elves?). And I have to say (SPOILER), the castle of ice was ridiculous, and the wizard Conan battles in the hall of mirrors seems that bought his mask in the shopping center off for days. Launch of Grace Jones in this film does not make it any better, and Wilt Chamberlin as a character just as much sense as casting Shaquille O'Neal in the Lord of the Rings. The God / Beast in the final battle is slightly cool, but too little, too late. This movie just feels fully diluted, hollywoodized, and neutered. Fans of the original, or anyone for that matter, avoid this garbage unless you have your own do-it-yourself Mystery Science Theater episode at home. It's really too bad: ( |
