| Lynch for best film to date is simply a masterpiece. Confused? Not a bit of it, even if the first two-thirds did not quite make sense. But from the moment Betty 'becomes' Diane everything that came before and after it falls into place. Of course, the less you know beforehand the best in doing so, the more fun will put the pieces of the puzzle together. | This film is probably the worst movie I've ever seen. A mixture of half of the plots and fragments of history, this apparently is what passes as art in Hollywood these days. | Mulholland Drive is the best David Lynch film. This is high praise indeed, as Lynch has produced some of the most interesting films of the past 30 years. Mulholland Drive takes elements from his previous job and dies in a glorious whole - the amateur detectives of Blue Velvet, the exchange of characters in Lost Highway, the feeling of fear of Twin Peaks, the string of crazy wild at heart. The atmosphere created in Mulholland Drive is extraordinary. And the first structure of the seemingly senseless is revealed in repeated viewings, which actually quite simple.
