The Black Pimpernel was a surprise for me because it is a rare (and true) story of political courage. An experience unconventional and Swedish Ambassador driven by a sense of justice in saving lives during the fascist coup in Chile that replaces Salvador Allende with Augusto Pinochet. The ambassador places of the Cuban embassy under the protection of the Embassy of Sweden, gives refuge to hundreds of people, helping some to leave the country, and falls in love with a woman revolutionary. He takes no risks regular diplomatic official used his diplomatic immunity to smuggle people to safety, entering dangerous areas controlled by soldiers and challenges, risking their own lives. Ambassador Edelstam seemed to know exactly what to do in relation to the new fascist regime. His unwavering courage and loyalty to human rights and decency is comparable to that of William Wiburforce, the abolitionist in the film Amazing Grace. The Black Pimpernel is perfectly credible and keep my partner and me on the edge of our seats.

OK, I just see it (Costa Rica - I'm glad the Swedes spoke English to others but I forgot that Spanish does not get subtitled in English! Fortunately there was too much Spanish that was very important to the plot) and perhaps I move, but there are a couple of things that do not quite understand. Ana knew of Harald in the past in Germany in the war. And it appeared that indicated that he knew or daughter of an opera singer who Harald had been having a relationship with. Is this the case? And if not, what was that all about? Secondly, how do you know about Harald's father is Colonel Ana? See any response.

This film is really good and I highly recommend! It has a more realistic feel that (I know, The English Sweds talk to each other but frankly I do not care, and instant messaging Swedish)! Harald Edelstam was a true hero and its very clear in this film. Sometimes it may be difficult to understand but often not. Therefore, if you want to see a good movie, go see this! Its a Important movie that shows the heroic deeds of a true hero. Its really one of the best Swedish film I've ever seen! Finally, the Swed know how to make a movie big screen! Its value the money.

Harald Edelstam was Swedish ambassador in Chile during Pinochet's rebellion. The saved many people from the board and also took considerable personal risk. He is worth a movie. However, better than this. First, it is always ridiculous hearing Swedish English speaking to each other. This makes the picture less trustworthy from the outset. Secondly, it is not very well acted and the characters are very square. This is more of a drama for television than for a big screen. It is a shame, because this is an important issue about the morality and personal responsibility. But you are not interested.
