| OK ...... I am 40 years old (male) and rocker 2 can relate much of this movie if you have never been a musician who sweat and tormented more than just music that does not succeed ... .... great movie tells a good story ..... I saw twice once with the musicians and only once very ordinary group of friends .... I have a group of two ... no .. if you haven 'Do not lived the life or living at that time will not understand what they were going through and the pain that comes with the life they chose were hundreds and hundreds of bands that like in the strip at 80, this was just a story ... so it was ..... Rock N Roll a movie ...... to quote a line from the movie. "I am a girl from the band and that f @ #% on the rocks" And she did it all the way through this movie ............. PEACE |
| so I just finished Prey watcing Rock and Roll and just finished reading the comments. I was here in Los Angeles when cheri lovedog (the writer) is doing its thing. and what she was doing very well. she took a piece of his life and made something that every American could see. because if all of America has seen the real deal that is not how not to handle it. living in Los Angeles at the time was intense and this film captures the despair. The saddest thing about Hollywood has always been and will always be people who do not know when to quit. do not know when to stop drugs, they do not know when to stop his dream. and I would say that for a movie it gets the point across. Gina Gershon shows that it is more than a girl Glam. she knows how to get dirty. Drea de Mateo shines. seemed almost real .. There is something to be said for that. All the girls did a good job. but this is not just a movie about what the rock and roll. it was a film about coming to terms with yourself. and that can sometimes be the most difficult thing. I think cheri really shows that this is the biggest fight in Hollywood. and this is the fight that most people lose. is also a great francois to see on the screen. brought some interesting memories. Teri and Texas continues to rock. Here is a woman who is living that dream. over forty and still going strong. |
| Prey for Rock and Roll is a great movie for anyone who likes rock, especially women who have grown up admiring the likes of Joan Jett, Ann and Nancy Wilson, Lita Ford, Chrissie Hynde, or any woman in the predominantly male that the music industry have taken control of their music rather than allow to be molded into the industry of the "male fantasy" of a female musician. (Britney Spears, are you listening?) But it's not a movie just for women - I saw a young boy PFRR with, and loved it. We are waiting for the soundtrack that comes out - great music. Just to balance my comments, my very small criticism is that once or twice (and only once or twice) a line of canned or sound a little flat, but tend to overanalyzing in that direction. (I will not say that the lines to avoid giving the movie away.) But in general the dialogue was very, very real, with too much humor thrown in. The interactions between the characters were great for building them until after 2 de-dimensions. (For example, Jackie's relationship with his mother Jackie made the character more interesting, Tracy's relationship with her boyfriend made her more interesting - a role that could have otherwise easily have been a caricature rather than a character. Ivan Martin it was also great in the role.) I would definitely recommend this movie to anyone ready for a film that balances the heavy (hard aspects of life) with light (to find the humor in life and following your dreams). |
| I think Gina Gershon did a great job of acting in this movie. The content was very well done. I think it's a good film for all ages and would recommend it to anyone. It is a lot of issues we face today and have clashed in the past. The players were very good at it, and I especially liked the message you left. The music was very well done and the writing was good. The cast is along very well and shows that we can all be friends and do what you enjoy the most.Wheather you're black or white is for everyone from all walks of life and took care of everything in life. I went out with a positive attitude and felt that the public too. |
| I thought that this film was very good. Each of them had their own lives and their own lives, stories that were not posers. Jacki who wanted to be a rock star had not received the treatment he needed to get his feet off the ground who has spent a lot of people I know. I thought that this movie was a big no need to show sex in the film because this is not about sex was rockin and lifestyles that go with it. It could not be provided to fame in the rock n roll, but there's always the life and reality portrayed. |
