| I don `t know what people expect from this movie. High drama, perhaps Shakespeare's dialogue. This is an action movie that deserves a better way of evaluating what we have. This film could have been horrible, but the characters were very well complemented by a film of this type, and makers of reality, was for the pathos angle with the creature. Instead of making giant monster Godzilla, which gave the creature a personality with his behavior, a personality that can best be seen at Madison Square Garden explosion. For anyone not find that very moving scene, which must be cruel. Add to this the great performance, and the "scientific" explanations (which was more than Independence Day ever) and this is a very under-rated movie. |
| I can not believe ya'll hated, this is the best Godzilla movie ever made.Seeing Godzilla in Digital, and special effects, was much better than seeing you in some cheap, old, green spaces suit.My vote for this movie would be a 10. |
| Well, being a fan a long time to GODZILLAS / Gojira films as a child, I remember seeing this with great anticipation. I, unlike a lot of people, not at all disappointed. This film is exactly what I hoped it would be at the time. Sure, certainly was not as charming or as funny as the films I loved as a child, but it was fun. I loved the action scenes, the appearance of the monster is crazy for me, and the plot is simple enough for a first time to get right into the viewer. Seeing her again 10 years later, I had the same reaction. My opinion of this movie has not changed a bit. I suppose that everybody complaints arising from this form has no charm or any kind of attempt to be original or nice. I suppose that is understandable, but I still do not see what the problem is all. This was supposed to be a fun and exciting, action and excitement walk. That's all it is, neither more nor less. Personally, I think it is successful as it managed to perfection. Matthew Broderick can not be just an action hero, but sure of his character and is funny. Jean Reno was as good as usual. |
| A lot of people dislike Godzilla. Not so with me. I thought it was a very pleasant, fun movie to see, with great special effects. Besides, I liked the new American Godzilla much. Not Oscar worthy acting performances here, but most of them do an adequate job, and I was particularly impressed by Frenchman Jean Reno, which was really a funny, interesting to see. Godzilla is not the largest movie, but it's a great one to see in a bored, on Friday night. Check it out! |
| This film is a whole lot better than Star Wars Episode 1. In both movies the lines were quite bad, but they were better in Godzilla. The helicopter chase scenes were amazing. The special effects blew my mind. Dean Devlin and Roland Emmerich sure know how to make movies. This movie was better than ID4? No, but very close. I would recommend everyone see this movie. |
| Of all the blockbuster movies that are critically condemned by the media, this is one of the few that I have personally enjoyed. In fact, I really do not understand why people do not like this movie, other than the original Godzilla fans who expected something more in the original sense of the films. If you've made this movie for what it is, to find an absorber (yet not simplistic) story, IMO quite strong acting from all the usual, a good soundtrack, strong final chapter (albeit a bit too long pos) and some clever dialogue at times. If you want to condemn Jurassic Park 2 or Independence Day, find me (which are quite rubbish), but Godzilla is a nice film fund, to enjoy what is, not what it could / could have been. | Despite what has been said, I thought that was a good Godzilla movie. The special effects are excellent. The act is nothing special but it's good enough to be overlooked. In a general 9. |
| Ok, it is not Gone with the wind or something, but come on! All movies are about escapism, and it's great to see a movie and not have to think 'Oh, that the actor is so beautiful ", instead concentrating on the film. And the movie was good. It could have been better (much better) but could have been much worse! Cut them some slack! |
