| Needless to say, this movie is late. After the lamentable effort that will be turtles in time, the animated series that emerged in recent years saw a rejuvenation of the once popular franchise. All they needed was a movie. Filmed entirely in CGI, TMNT is a great example of why we should still care about the heroes in the middle shell. What is arch nemesis Shredder, replaced by a new enemy. Four stone immortal warriors, led by the powerful businessman Max Winters (Patrick Stewart) are walking down the streets of ancient monsters hunting for their own benefit. The back story is not unduly by writer / director Kevin Munroe, who keeps the plot simple and high-octane action. As usual, Leo and Raph are not seeing eye to eye that leads to a dramatic battle between the two on the rooftops of Manhattan as the rain beat down. Old friends are back, with the return April O'Neil (Sarah Michelle Gellar) and hapless guard Casey Jones (Chris Evans). The decision to shoot in CGI is worth as Munroe uses it to his advantage in using vaccines that have been very difficult in real life. In addition, the film is unbelievable and also manages to have a dark element that, like the recent animated series. The film is full of humor and a shirt, and although children a movie still has enough to keep older fans happy. The hint of a sequel in the film is promising as we hope that this is the beginning of a new series. |
| This film is very good. The animation is great and the action has to be the best performance in an animated film ever. Heros Leonardo = Still the same great leader. As usual, it still does a great job trying to keep all the other turtles. Rafael = Rafael still has the same voice and hot temper tough attitude it deserves. Dontello = The guy who plays him Dontello made to sound like what he supposed to sound like a nerd. He = michelangelo remains the focus of the comedy. Mikey pulls out great jokes that will laugh at. Splinter = Mako did a great job expressing it. It is sad that he died Mako, who now have to find someone who Splinter voice for the sequel when Mako did a good job. There is a part in the movie Splinter will laugh at that, just listen carefully. Villains Max Winters = This guy is good. It's just everything you want to do is stop being immortal. Karai = She remains neutral as in the comics and the series 2003. A little reminder, listen very carefully to Karai the last line of the movie. The General = These guys are more like the evil twins of turtles. Its villains really good. Relationships Leo and Raph = The way this film portrays their relationship, it really is darker than the first live action film. Casey and April = The two of them actually act as a couple. The movie is really good. I was impressed. |
| Just saw tonight in an advance screening. I must say that I do not really leave disappointed, but it is certainly not harking to hyper-violence original graphic novels that some might expect. It is more than a continuation of the original pair of films, so more action violence. The story is a bit silly, but in line with a piece of animation. Serves primarily a back seat to internal unrest among the four brothers who is the main objective of the film. Leo and Raph have most of the screen with time and Don Mikey taking a back seat, even to the tastes of April and Casey. Style wise, it looks very good, with some excellent fight sequences. Although in general the movie was very very quickly. Acting voice was too good, nice to see Patrick Stewart in the mix as well. Basically, if you liked the original movies that you're in for a treat. If you're one of those people who think you should have all the red scarves and swear all the time, this might not be exactly what you were expecting. |
